2002 TCRA Points System

The goal= s of the TCRA points system are to:

&nb= sp;

1.   &n= bsp;   Increase participation in Texas canoe and kayak races.

2.   &n= bsp;   Encourage competition in nationally recognized canoe and kayak boat classes such as USCA.

3.   &n= bsp;   Reward outstanding paddlers.

&nb= sp;

The TCRA= points system is a competition to select the:

 

“M= ale Paddler of the Year ”            =             &nb= sp;           R= 20;Female Paddler of the Year”

“B= est USCA Male Paddler”   &= nbsp;           &nbs= p;         “Best USCA Female Paddler 

“B= est Solo Male Paddler”   &= nbsp;           &nbs= p;           ̶= 0;Best Solo Female Paddler”

“M= ale Youth Paddler of the Year ”        &= nbsp;     “Female Youth Paddler of the Year”

“B= est USCA Male Youth Paddler”  &= nbsp;            “Best USCA Female Youth Paddler    <= /p>

“B= est Solo Male Youth Paddler”  &= nbsp;           &nbs= p;  “Best Solo Female Youth Paddler”

 

1.   &n= bsp;   All Texas c= anoe races published by the June 2002 TCRA newsletter are eligible for points ex= cept for Sprints and the Martindale Triathlon.

&nb= sp;

2.   &n= bsp;   A points race must be a minimum distance of 3 miles.

&nb= sp;

3.   &n= bsp;   Points are accumulated between January 1  & the December TCRA boa= rd meeting and may be earned only by = TCRA members in good standing as of June 1, 2002.

&nb= sp;

4.   &n= bsp;   A racer is considered to be a ‘Youth’ paddler if they are 17 years of age or less as of January 1st of 2002.

&nb= sp;

5.   &n= bsp;   All points earned will count towards the “Paddler of the Year” award.=  

&nb= sp;

6.   &n= bsp;   All points earned in USCA class races will count towards “Best USCA Paddler” awards. The boat type recognized will be USCA C-1, = USCA C-2, “Texas= 18' Standard” and “TCRA 17' Aluminum”. Recreational canoes meeting USCA specifications may be raced in the USCA Class.

7.   &n= bsp;   All points earned in Solo class races will count towards “Best Solo Paddler” awards. The boat types recognized will be ICF K-1, = USCA Downriver K-1 & ACA Wildwater K-1, and the = Solo Unlimited. USCA C-1 class races will count towards USCA points and not Solo points.

8.   &n= bsp;   Points may be earned in more than one race per day except for the Sprint Series.  Only the designated marathon race = at a Sprint race may earn points.

&nb= sp;

9.   &n= bsp;   Points for USC= A and Solo boat classes shall be 8 points for 1st place, 7 points for = 2nd, 6 points for 3rd, 5 points for 4th, 4 points for 5th, 3 points for 6th, 2 points for 7= th place and down (8-7-6-5-4-3-2-2-2…).=  

&nb= sp;

10.   Non-USCA or Solo boat classes shall receive 3 points for 1st pla= ce, 2 points for 2nd place, then 1 point for everyone else (3-2-1-1-1…).

 

11.   Race sta= nding and points will be computed using the race sponsor’s class segregation.=

&nb= sp;

12.   In the e= vent of a tie for the “Best U= SCA Paddler of the Year”,  Best Solo Paddler of= the Year”, or “Best Paddler of the Year” awards, the tiebreak= er will be points earned in the State Championship Races.

 

13.   Awards commiserate with rank shall be provided to the 1st= to 5th place points earner in each category.
