TCRA Points System
The goals of the TCRA points system are to increase participation in Texas canoe and kayak races and reward outstanding paddlers.
The
TCRA points system is a competition to select the:

1.&n= bsp; All Texas canoe races published by the June 2005 TCRA newsletter are eligible for poi= nts except for Sprints and the Martindale Triathlon.
2.&n= bsp; A race must be a minimum distance of 3 miles in order t= o be eligible for points.
3.&n= bsp; Points are accumulated between January 1 and= the November TCRA banquet and may be earned only by TCRA members in good standing as of June 1, 2005. Points accumulated after the November TCRA banquet shall be counted towards the 20= 06 Points season.
4.&n= bsp; A racer is considered to be a ‘Youth’ paddler if they are = 17 years of age or less as of January 1st of 2005.
5.&n= bsp; All points earned will count towards the = 220;Paddler of the Year” award.=
6.&n= bsp; All points earned in USCA class races will count towards “Best USCA Paddler” awards. The boat types recognized will= be USCA C-1, USCA C-2, USCA Standard and USCA Aluminum. Recreational canoes meeting USCA specifications may be raced in the USCA Class.
7.&n= bsp; All points earned in Solo class races will count towards “Best Solo Paddler” awards. The boat types recognized will= be ICF K-1, USCA Downriver K-1 & ACA Wildwater K-1, and the Solo Unlimited. USCA C-1 class races will count towards USCA points and not Solo points.
8.&n= bsp; Non= -USCA or Solo boat classes shall earn points towards the “Paddler of= the Year” only.

6 points for 3rd, 5 points for 4th, 4 points for 5

paddler participating in a TCRA cleanup will receive 8 points, the
equivalent of a 1st place finish.
11.&= nbsp; Race standing and points will be computed us= ing the race sponsor’s class= segregation.

12.&= nbsp; In the event of a tie for any category, the tiebreaker will be points earned in t= he State Championship Races.
13.&= nbsp; Awa= rds commiserate with rank shall be given to the 1st to 5th place points earner in each category.
