2006 TCRA Points Sy= stem

 

The goals of the TCRA points system are to increase participation in Texas canoe and kayak races and reward outstanding paddlers.

 

The TCRA points system is a competition to select the:

 

“Men&= #8217;s Paddler of the Year”   = ;             <= /span>“Women’s Paddler of the Year”

“Me= n’s USCA Paddler”    =             &nb= sp;        “Women’s USCA Paddler  

“Me= n’s Solo Paddler”    =             &nb= sp;           R= 20;Women’s Solo Paddler”

“Me= n’s Youth USCA Paddler”   =            “= Women’s Youth USCA Paddler

1.&n= bsp;     All Texas c= anoe races published by the June 2006 TCRA newsletter are eligible for points ex= cept for Sprints and the Martindale Triathlon.

 

2.&n= bsp;     A race must be a minimum distance of 3 miles in order t= o be eligible for points except for Youth.

 

3.&n= bsp;     Points are accumulated after the 20= 05 Fall Cleanup and prior to the 2006 Fall Cleanup and may be earned only by T= CRA members in good standing as of August 1, 2006.

 

4.&n= bsp;     A racer is considered to be a ‘Youth’ paddler if they are = 17 years of age or less as of January 1st of 2005.

 

5.&n= bsp;     All points earned will count towards the = 220;Paddler of the Year” award.=  

 

6.&n= bsp;     All points earned in USCA class races will count towards “Best USCA Paddler” awards. The boat classes recognized wi= ll be USCA C-1, USCA C-2, USCA Standard and USCA Aluminum.

 

7.&n= bsp;     All points earned in Solo class races will count towards “Best Solo Paddler” awards. USCA C-1 class races will count towards USCA points and not Solo points.

 

8.&n= bsp;     Non= -USCA or Non-Solo boat classes shall earn points towards the “Pad= dler of the Year” only.

 

9.&n= bsp;     Poi= nts awarded shall be 8 points for 1st place, 7 points for 2nd, 6 points for 3rd, 5 points for 4th, 4 points for 5th, 3 points for 6th, 2 points for 7th place, 1 point for= 8th place and down (8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-1-1…). 

 

10.&= nbsp; Any paddler participating in a TCRA cleanup will receive 8 points, the equivalent of a 1st place finish.

 

11.&= nbsp; Race standing and points will be computed using the race sponsor’s class segregation.

12.&= nbsp; In the event of a tie for any cat= egory, the tiebreaker will be points earned in the State Championship Races.

 

13.&= nbsp; Awards commiserate with rank shal= l be given to the 1st to 5th place points earner in each category.
