Paddlers from Austin, Houston, Tyler, Rusk, Fort Worth and Dallas came to the Labor Day Sprints on September 4th at Bachman Lake just north of Love Field in Dallas, Texas. Amusing the rowers from the Dallas Rowing Club as well as the many people walking and jogging around the lake, a dozen racers entered up to nine races. Standouts among the participants were Rachel Lamb and Michael Cheadle who entered and finished all nine races! The Buoy Turn 1000M races are great because the start and finish are seen, plus the maneuvering pivot at the buoy is a great way to make up time for the skillful. The Indexed 500M final race was a fan and paddler favorite as always.
Cindy Meurer, David Lamb, Jay Waggoner, Ed Furman, Dan Allee and Angela Allee worked timing, safety and starting during the races.
